Moving your website to us
Most sites come to us from a site builder, an old agency or a hosting account someone set up years ago. Here's how the move works.

We check how the site is built, where the domain and email live and what state everything is in.

Back up
Before anything moves, we take a full copy of the site so there's always something to roll back to.

We set up managed hosting, move the site across and plan the email switch so messages keep arriving.

Switch over
We update the DNS, check the SSL certificate and test forms, pages and mail on the new setup.

Look after
From then on the site sits on the care plan, with monitoring, backups and updates running.
Large or complicated migrations, failed sites and hosting accounts nobody can access are quoted separately after the review.

01How much does website maintenance cost?
Our Managed Hosting and Care plan is $200 a month plus GST. That covers hosting, SSL, monitoring, daily backups, updates and security. If you're on one of our Growth packages, it's already included. Changes such as new pages or features are quoted separately, and extra technical work is $100 an hour plus GST.
02What does website maintenance include?
Managed hosting, an SSL certificate, security and uptime monitoring, daily backups, WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, malware protection and recovery support, and basic technical maintenance. It doesn't include new pages, content entry, design changes, new features, SEO or marketing, which we quote as separate work.
03What are the ongoing costs of running a website?
Expect hosting, a domain and someone keeping the site updated and backed up. If you pay providers yourself, hosting usually runs about $50 to $80 a month, plus whatever you pay for business email. Our care plan rolls hosting and maintenance into $200 a month plus GST.
04Do I really need website maintenance?
If your site takes enquiries, yes. Out-of-date plugins are one of the most common ways small business websites get hacked, and without a recent backup a bad update can take the site offline for days. Maintenance is cheaper than a rebuild after something goes wrong.
05Can you maintain a website you didn't build?
Often, yes. We review the site first to check how it's built, what state it's in and whether it can run on our hosting. If it needs repair work before we take it on, we'll tell you and quote that separately, so the monthly plan starts from a clean, working site.
06What happens if my website gets hacked?
Malware protection and recovery support are part of the plan. With daily backups in place, the usual fix is to clean the site or roll it back to a clean copy and close the gap that let the attacker in. Recovering a site that was hacked before it came to us is quoted separately.
07Can I make changes to my website myself?
Yes. You keep access to update your own content. The plan covers keeping the site healthy, not content entry or redesigns, so if you'd rather we make changes for you, we quote them or bill them as technical work.
