Landing page design that turns paid clicks into calls and enquiries

Every paid click is a visitor who already wants something. Good landing page design meets them with exactly that: the words they searched, one clear offer, proof you can do it and one obvious next step. We write, design and build landing pages for Australian service businesses, matched to your ads and tracked from the first click to the enquiry.

Go-arounds

Why most landing pages lose the click

When a pilot isn't happy with the approach, they go around. Visitors do the same thing with the back button. These are the five reasons we see most when we review campaign pages.

  1. GA-01

    It doesn't match the search

Someone searched for a same-day repair and landed on a page about your company history. They wonder if they're in the right place, and they leave.

  2. GA-02

    It's slow on a phone

Most paid clicks for local services come from mobiles. Every extra second of a blank screen sends people back to the results.

  3. GA-03

There are too many ways out

A full menu, six services and a blog feed give people plenty to do except the one thing you paid for them to do.

  4. GA-04

There's no reason to trust you

No reviews, no photos of real work, no licence numbers. The visitor has no reason to pick you over the next ad.

  5. GA-05

    The next step is hard

A long form, a hidden phone number or a button that says Submit. Friction at the last step wastes all the work before it.

The approach

How a good landing page brings a visitor in

We plan every page like an approach to a runway. Each section lines the visitor up for the next one, until the only natural thing left to do is act.

  1. 01

    Headline: Match the search

The headline repeats what they searched for, in their words, so they know in a second that they've landed in the right place.

  2. 02

    Offer: Make one clear offer

One service, one outcome and what happens next. A quote within a day, a Saturday appointment, a site visit this week.

  3. 03

Proof: Show it's been done before

Reviews, photos of real jobs, logos of clients, licences and guarantees, placed right where doubt creeps in.

  4. 04

    Answers: Answer the worries

Price guides, areas covered, how long it takes. The questions people would otherwise ring a competitor to ask.

  5. 05

    Action: Land on one action

A big call button on mobile, a short form or a booking slot. Repeated down the page, never buried.

Boarding passes

Landing page design for Google Ads

Google rewards ads that lead to useful pages. When the keyword, the ad and the landing page all say the same thing, your quality score tends to rise and your cost per click tends to fall. More importantly, more of the people you pay for actually call.

Because our team runs Google Ads too, the ads and the pages are planned together. Each group of searches gets a page that picks up exactly where the ad left off, and each page is tracked so you can see which searches bring in paying work.

Landing page design FAQs

Can't see your question? Request a project review.

How much does a landing page cost?

We build landing pages as part of a project rather than selling single pages or page subscriptions. As part of a new website, a Business Website starts at $6,000 plus GST. Inside a Growth package from $1,199 a month plus GST, landing pages are built within the agreed scope. If you only need pages added to your current site, we quote that after a project review.

What's the difference between a landing page and a home page?

A home page talks to everyone and offers lots of paths. A landing page talks to one kind of visitor, usually someone who clicked a specific ad or search result, and gives them one clear next step. That focus is why landing pages usually turn more paid clicks into enquiries.

Do I need a separate landing page for each Google Ads campaign?

Not always for each campaign, but you do want a page that matches each main group of searches. Someone searching for emergency repairs and someone searching for a new install want different things. We group your keywords, then decide where a dedicated page will earn its keep.

Can you build landing pages on my current website?

Usually, yes. We can build them inside WordPress, Shopify, Webflow or a custom advanced website, or on a subdomain if your current site is hard to work with. We'll recommend the option that keeps pages fast and easy to track.

Do you use landing page builders like Unbounce or Leadpages?

We can, but we usually don't need to. Builder tools add a monthly fee and often load slowly on mobile. Building pages into your own site keeps them fast, on your domain and part of the same tracking as everything else.

How long does a landing page take to build?

It depends on how many pages you need, how much copy and proof is ready and how many people need to sign off. We'll give you a timeline in the project review, after we've looked at your campaigns and current site.

Will a landing page help my SEO?

Pages built for paid ads are often kept out of search results on purpose, so they don't compete with your main service pages. Where a page targets a search you also want to rank for, we build it to SEO standards and link it into your site properly.

How do you know if a landing page is working?

We track calls, forms and bookings from every page and tie them back to the ad or search that sent the visitor. Then we look at enquiries and cost per enquiry, not just clicks. When there's enough traffic, we test one change at a time.

Ready to bring more of your clicks in to land?

Send us your ads and the pages they point to. We'll show you where visitors are going around, and what we'd change first.
